Idea of Project „Today for yourself – better tomorrow together” began after we had met women with breast cancer disease. We had decided to inform young women about danger out coming from bad health care in youth. We can realize our plans thanks to support from National Agency of Youth Program. We want to aware young women that everything they do for themselves today brings fruits in the future. Healthy, educated, modern women which will became mothers of next generations Europeans can take better care of their children. Slavic goddess of earth, water, sexuality and women – Mokosz is our patron. Her mane we took to name our Informal Female Group.
The Informal Female Group “MOKOSZ” is part of regional section of Polish Women League in Człuchów. League main points are: working for realization of equal rights of women and men in social-politic life, in work, helping women and them families. The organization performs informative, educational duties as well as some forms of law and social advice, advice on family matters, employment advice, the organization also holds trainings, meetings, seminars. Even more it also publishes and runs charitable organizations. Now Polish Women League counts 22 regional sections and unites 6 tsd. members.
The Informal Female Group “MOKOSZ” is interested in education of women in matter of women rights and health. Main subject is to stimulate young women. Group popularizes knowledge of equal rights in EU courtiers. “Today for yourself…”, for better condition, health and self confidence for example: during finding job; “…tomorrow…” – for your children, their better start, equal chances, irrespectively of the place of living and social status. We know about difficulties with access to information in region, like one we live in, with 34% of unemployment. That’s where from idea editing cost free brochure in every two months. Through this project, we organize meetings with invited visitors, where we and our guests share knowledge and experiences with young women from administrative district Człuchów and administrative district Chojnice. Main topics are: unemployment, breast cancer disease, women rights etc. During those meetings we make opinion poll, which results are available in our two-monthly publication. Members of Informal Female Group “MOKOSZ” and society of youth women benefit from realization of this project. Broadcasting information about women rights, methods of solving problems is way to stimulate local society. We’re sure that after our meetings and after reading our publications women will exam themselves. We believe that youth women would speak with their mothers, grandmothers about subjects broth up by our group. Thanks to it more women will be aware of breast cancer disease risk, and more women will know how to self-exam their breasts. Women with knowledge of their rights will more successfully faith for compliance with those rights, involving local society live. |
